New Export Feature to Download Complaint Data
Experience faster, more reliable data exports on the Console with our new asynchronous export feature – optimized for large volumes of data and seamless analysis.
Introducing the Console's New and Improved Export Feature: Faster, Asynchronous, and Capable of Handling Large Volumes
For anyone who relies on the Console to access and analyze complaint data from Independent Accountability Mechanisms (IAMs), exporting data is a crucial task. The export functionality is a tool that allows users to download detailed complaint data for in-depth analysis. The export button is located in the Complaints section of the console. To use the export functionality, users may have to request access first.
Until recently, the export functionality faced significant barriers when dealing with large volumes of data. Previously, exporting a dataset required tens of thousands of queries - a testament to the sheer volume of data involved in a single complaint export. Oftentimes, users would encounter browser timeouts and delays, making it difficult to work with the entire dataset of 1,955 complaints. This would require splitting exports into batches of 300 or fewer complaints, which would make it challenging for users to access the data easily.
But those days are over! We're excited to announce the new export feature that allows you to easily export the entire complaint dataset.
Meet the New Export Feature: Efficient, Reliable, and Faster
Built with an asynchronous architecture, the improved complaint exporting process can now handle downloads with ease, processing them in a fraction of the original time and only requiring a few queries– a significant reduction.
With the new asynchronous system, the export process runs in the background. Users can keep using the console and the export will continue running. When it is ready, you can download the file. For example, if you need to analyze all complaints filed over the past year, you can easily filter complaints by date, apply any additional criteria and then export the full set without worrying about timeouts.
By ensuring adequate data access for comprehensive analysis and reports, this asynchronous export feature is a great step in enhancing the Console's performance and data accessibility. We've integrated the new export functionality with the existing search and filter features, allowing you to create highly tailored and detailed reports that can be exported quickly and efficiently.
Why it matters
With this enhancement, users can now download and analyze data without delays. Whether you're dealing with hundreds or thousands of complaints, the improved export functionality ensures that your work is efficient.
What's Next?
We're committed to making more of the Console's features asynchronous beyond just exporting complaints. As we continue to develop and refine these capabilities, your feedback will be invaluable to us.
So, give the new export feature a try! If you don't have export access and would like to be added, or if you encounter any issues or need assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. We're here to help and are excited to hear about how this enhancement improves your experience with the Console.
