Description

The Complainants allege that the Projects cause negative impacts to indigenous and local communities located in the vicinity of the Projects affecting their lands, livelihoods, homes, health, safety, religious and cultural sites, causing their displacement from ancestral lands, as well as to the environment. The Complainants further allege that the Projects are implemented without consultation, meaningful participation, and without free, prior and informed consent as required by international human rights obligations, Nepal’s constitution, and ADB’s Safeguard Policy Statement.
