On 6 January 2021, the Compliance Review and Mediation Unit (BCRM) received, through the Country Manager of the Bank Office in Burundi, a Complaint relating to the Nyakararo Mwaro –Gitega (RN18 /Phase II, Kibumbu-Gitega (Mweya): 24 km road project in Burundi. BCRM, in its preliminary assessment of the complaint, realized that the complaint did not meet the criteria for registration as it was submitted by one affected individual without the power of representation of other affected people. Following several exchanges with the Complainant, BCRM received on 5 February 2021 the representational authority and a confirmation that the issues raised in the complaint are not pending before any national court.
