Description

Synopsis of Issues Raised:Complainant claims that their and neighbors' properties will be adversely impacted due to monetary loss as a result of this UNDP project. In addition complainant claims the project will adversely impact the environment and deem the land that it is impacting unusable for agricultural or residential use. Complainant alleges the project is intending to install a main sewer line in their properties without their consent or approval. Complainant claims they have notified the local authorities but their requests went unanswered. Complainant believes that it is possible to avoid the adverse impacts if the project engineer routed this main sewer line through an existing road in the area. Complainant believes an experienced engineering team would be able to achieve this and with a reasonable cost. The current plan and design is trying to achieve the easiest route for this sewer line and at the cost of adverse impact the complainant, their neighbors, and the environment in a country where land is scarce and their livelihood depends on ability to use the land for agriculture and housing.
