Allegations: Alleged non-disclosure of information, lack of social impact assessment of the project, violation of land and property rights and compensation issues. A complaint was lodged on 21 March 2018 on behalf of the affected people relating to a major water and sanitation project in Mongolia. The project comprised the financing of the water, wastewater and sanitation investment program in the Ger areas of the municipality of Ulaanbaatar (the Project). The same complaint was sent to the Office of the Special Project Facilitator (OSPF) of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), a co-financier of the Project. The complaint alleged damages and negative impacts due to land acquisition and property valuation of the Project. In view of the lead-financier status of the ADB in this project, it was decided between the EIB-CM and the OSPF in 2018, that the Accountability Mechanism of the ADB would take the lead in the handling of this complaint.
