Description

A local cooperative lodged a complaint raising concerns about inadequate consultation and information sharing about the adverse environmental and social impacts of two hydropower projects, Lom Pangar and Nachtigal. The complaint concerns 41 villages situated between the two dams. The complainant alleged that the environmental and social impact assessments only addressed the impacts upstream of the Lom Pangar dam, neglecting the downstream impacts, which include effects on the health and livelihoods of sand miners and fishermen.
